Today we’re going to talk about another of Palau Dalmases’ great flamenco artists. José Manuel Álvarez is a flamenco dancer born in Sevilla in 1985. He has worked with directors such as Rafael Estévez, Rubén Olmo, Marco Flores, Juan Carlos Lérida, Emilio Fernández, Javier Latorre and Pepa Gamboa and with artists such as Antonio Canales, Las Migas, tap dancer Roxane Butterfly, the company Increpación Danza and the master of tar Hamid Khabbazi.

At an international level, José Manuel has worked with Craig Rivel, with whom he joined forces in the musical “Flamen’ka Nueva” in Paris and London.

José Manuel Álvarez has been part of the Marco Flores’ company in the productions Laberíntica (2014) and Enter the Game (2016). He has also presented in a small format with Solo Con (Barcelona 2014), with the choreographic piece D-Structures at the Theater de la Ville (Paris 2014), Ángulo Muerto with Lucía Álvarez “La Piñona” (Barcelona 2015) and Hostal Pascual (Barcelona 2016) ).

He has performed in the Palau de la Música along with Maestros de la Guitarra and, in addition to Palau Dalmases, he has also dances in flamenco tablaos such as Villarrosa, Las Carboneras, El Corral de la Morería, El Cordobés, El tablao de Carmen…

Flamenco artist and teacher

He teaches at a professional level in Barcelona,? is also a guest lecturer at the Institut del Teatre and performs masterclasses in The Netherlands, France, Russia, Morocco and Japan.

In 2012 was awarded the Prize to the Free Dance by siguiriya at the national contest of La Perla de Cadiz.
