Flamenco guitarist in Barcelona
Today we want to talk to you about one of our flamenco guitarists in Palau Dalmases, Francisco Díaz. Born in Badalona in 1986, he began his artistic career along with singer Antonio “el Gaditano” playing at tablao flamenco Nervión and Jazzi club.
Francisco Díaz, flamenco passion
Francisco Díaz has a long history in the world of flamenco. He began his studies in flamenco guitar at the Catalan School of Music (ESMUC) at the age of 19, where he received classes from such great flamenco masters as Rafael Cañizares, Juan Manuel Cañizares and Juan Ramón Caro.
He has collaborated as a flamenco guitarist in the “Passatge Insòlit” in 2007 and 2008 and at the inauguration of the “Artmix” exhibition in Santa Coloma de Gramanet. Another one of his unforgettable collaborations has been at the “Kinsena Poetika” accompanying poet Francesc Gelonch.
Flamenco shows in Barcelona
In 2009, he began to work in tablao flamenco El Cordobés along with artists such as Roman Vicenti, Juan Ramón Caro, Paco Cruz, Pónta Camarón, Pedro Córdoba, Andrés Peña, Concha Jareño, Patricia Guerrero, La Tana or María Carmona. He has also worked in the Iñaki Márquez’s flamenco company.
In 2011 he participates in the 18th Flamenco Festival Ciutat Vella within the section Flamenco Emulsion Tape, and in Carmen Amaya’s Flamenco Festival.
He has been a flamenco guitar teacher at the School of Rafael Cañizares. He currently plays in the baroque space Palau Dalmases in Barcelona as the guitarist of flamenco singer Miriam Vallejo.
